New Column: In the Age of AI, a Company’s True Value Lies in Its People
Recently, we have been redesigning our company website.
In the past, building a new website would typically mean hiring a design agency, holding numerous meetings, and spending several months before reaching completion.
Today, however, AI-powered no-code website-building tools make it possible to create a professional and visually appealing website in a surprisingly short amount of time. I have been genuinely impressed by how far these technologies have come.
At the same time, working on the redesign has reminded me of something important.
AI can build a website, but it cannot create the value of a company.
What Should a Company Really Communicate?
Looking back at our previous website, much of the content focused on what we offered:
“These are our services.”
“These are the kinds of projects we can deliver.”
“These are our achievements.”
Of course, this is important information for anyone who wants to understand our company.
But as we worked on the redesign, I found myself returning to a more fundamental question:
What is it that we really want people to know about us?
What we truly want to communicate is not simply a list of services.
It is what motivates us in our work, what we value, and what kind of value we want to create for our clients.
The answer was in our Mission, Vision, and Values.
The People Behind Our Mission
At PM Global, our Mission is to “Establish Greater Global Collaboration.”
We aim to connect diverse people and organizations to create new value together.
What makes this possible is not only our project management expertise or our track record.
It is each and every member of our team who shares our values—Respect, Openness, Challenge, Commitment, and Innovative—and puts them into practice every day.
I believe that what our clients truly value is not simply how we describe our services or the impressive projects we have delivered.
What matters is the people behind the company—who they are, what they believe in, and how those beliefs shape the way they work.
Rediscovering Who We Are
This website redesign turned out to be much more than a visual refresh.
It gave us a valuable opportunity to reflect on some fundamental questions:
“Who are we?”
“What kind of partner do we want to be for our clients?”
“What value can we offer that is uniquely ours?”
Revisiting these questions gave us an opportunity to look again at who we are as a company.
In the end, what defines a company is not only the services it provides.
It is the people who provide them, the values they share, and the way they put those values into practice every day.
Times will change. Technology will continue to evolve.
But I believe our people—and the values they bring to their work—will remain our most important asset.
